Stockroom Hall

Los Angeles, CA 90026
This month's Stockroom University is a special one: Internationally-acclaimed educator Midori is hosting a virtual workshop on feminine archetypes in kink. Not only is Midori one of our favorite people working in the kink scene, "Fundamentals of Feminine Dominance: Archetypes of Desire" is itself a special class designed to help aspiring femme dommes articulate what they want, and how to use that in scenes to please themselves — and their partners.
One of the most exciting things about this class is that it tackles a very common but little acknowledged phenomenon among kinksters: That long pause when someone asks you “What are you really into?” or “What type of D/s do you enjoy?” Knowing what you really want is a surprisingly challenging part of anyone's kink journey.
Material covered will include:
- How to identify your core desires that underly your current play
- Begin to identify what your partner is really asking for in a scene
- Identify the types of scenes that you won’t enjoy before you get into them
- Learn Midori’s infamous Desires Chart and how to use it to break out of the box for better scene satisfaction
- Consider scenes that you might not have thought of that just might delight you
- Get practical tips for playing with your newfound clarity and desires.
Come prepared to engage in thought exercises & discussions, deep dive into your needs, and take lots of notes (so many fun ideas!) If you have taken Midori's “Best Kink Advice Nobody Told You” or “Art of Feminine Dominance”, classes, this is an excellent complement to the skills learned there. Students who want to go even further with the material they learn in this class also might want to consider enrolling in Midori's Forte Femme weekend intensive. The next workshop takes place in July in the San Francisco Bay Area.
About the Teacher

Midori is a renowned educator and writer on sexuality. Dubbed “the supernova of kink” by Dan Savage, she emerged from the Sex Positive Movement in San Francisco in the early 1990s, soon becoming a much sought after international presenter on sexuality, personal fulfillment, and kinky adventures.
Her reputation as an authority and leading expert on alternative pleasures stems not only from her unique and entertaining process of teaching concrete skills but from her ability to deconstruct and distill complex matters of desire into surprisingly accessible lessons with eloquence and humanity. She’s known for tackling challenging topics with fresh and relevant insights. She calls this her “head-heart-hands” method to create a space where people are allowed individual self-exploration. Fundamentally she is motivated by helping people to create authentic and intimate relationships while emphasizing self-actualization, shame reduction, acceptance, and justice.
She teaches a Kink Informed Certification Program with the Sexual Health Alliance for accredited Therapists, Educators, and other professionals to better support their clients who engage in alternative relationship styles. In recent years she has taught for professional organizations such as Institute for Sexuality Education and Enlightenment, Center for Cultural Innovation, and Modern Sex therapy Institute. Midori has also presented at San Francisco State University and Antioch University and was the recipient of the 2022 Humanitarian Award from American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
Her writing is extensive, ranging from numerous articles, columns, works of fiction, to instructional books. She is the author of The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage, Wild Side of Sex, Master Han’s Daughter, and co-author of Silk Threads. Her next Shibari book is currently being written.
She leads transformative small group intensives, including Rope Dojo® and ForteFemme: Women’s Dominance Weekend. You can learn more about her coaching and education at www.PlanetMidori.com.
