Feb. 15: Mistress Wicked Teaches Impact Play 101

Impact play is more than just a favorite among kinksters: Even among those who have never so much as thought about entering a dungeon, its implements are iconic. The whip, the flogger, the cane, the crop, the spanking paddle are immediate shorthand in pop culture for "This person is kinky."

Frankly, there are a lot of people who think that you just can't be kinky without a whip or two in the closet.

And needless to say, we love impact play in all its forms. We've chosen the implements in our Whips and Paddles section with a lot of care (and not a little sadism).

Impact play is more about hitting your submissive with your choice of whip, flogger, cane, hand, etc.; it's a pleasure that's highly dependent on the people involved, the trust and negotiation between them, and how their bodies respond to sensation.

And in order to help you explore that complex interplay, we're once again welcoming Mistress Wicked to Stockroom University to teach Impact 101. A longtime friend and associate of The Stockroom, Wicked has a broad knowledge of kink, but impact play is her passion, so she's the first person we go to when we want to help people learn how to do spanking or flogging.

The class is called 101, but it's also an excellent way to start orienting yourself to try new techniques in your scenes.
